A Note from Jim Brickman Piano Music Signature

“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Dr. Suess

Next week your doorbell will ring and you’ll be faced with Trick or Treaters with their little pumpkin bags held out for candy. I’m sure you’ll be faced with the usual Super Heroes, Disney Princesses, ghosts, goblins, and zombies. But there will be that one kid dressed as something completely different. That one kid that just stands out in the crowd. Please give that kid an extra handful of candy.

That’s kid was usually me. Sure, you’ve all seen the picture of me as a cowboy on Halloween. Maybe it was a premonition that I’d someday perform in Nashville, but I’m pretty sure everyone else that year was a robot or a Martian. It’s not that I didn’t fit in…. I just didn’t care. After school my friends ran home to watch TV and I was playing the piano. When all the guys were outside playing football or baseball, what was I doing? Writing songs. It’s funny because now when I go back for my high school reunions the kids all say, “I never knew you played piano!”
