Listen to Hannah Rae’s interview with Adrienne here!

HANNAH RAE: It’s the Jim Brickman show, you’re here with Hannah Rae, and as the resident millennial of our show, it pretty much goes without saying that The Cheetah Girls were an essential part of my childhood, so I am seriously, like, over the moon, could not be more excited about our next guest, Adrienne Bailon Houghton! Hi Adrienne, how are you?

ADRIENNE BAILON HOUGHTON: Hi! Thank you, Hannah, that was an awesome intro!

HR: Well, it truly comes from the heart, I’m very excited to be doing this interview with you today.

ABH: I appreciate that, thank you so much.

HR: So, first of all, congratulations on your Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host of The Real, that’s incredible!

The cast of The Reel

The cast of The Reel winning big!

ABH: Thank you so much! Can’t believe it. I mean, if anybody saw our acceptance speech, we clearly were floored, did not expect to win at all, but felt so honored and we’re just super excited to go into season five as Emmy Award winners

HR: I love The Real, it’s so fun, so entertaining.

ABH: Thank you!

HR: So what other projects do you have going on right now?

ABH: I just launched my YouTube channel! Super excited about that. It’s called All Things Adrienne, and it is all things beauty, entertainment, fashion, yeah! And I don’t really know how to explain how excited I am about it, mainly because I allow people to come into my home, we’ve done a house tour on there, makeup tutorials, some fun entertainment tips, how to throw a good fiesta, which I’m pretty known for in these parts of town, but really it’s just so great to be able to connect with my fans even more and let them see another part of me.

HR: You started off as a singer/dancer, obviously, before any of the hosting or any of your appearances on reality shows…what first attracted you to dance in the first place?

ABH: I grew up with a lot of music in my home. So we were always dancing, singing, I was a part of every play in my community, so I just really was attracted to the arts in general and literally dancing for me is an outlet, it keeps me awake sometimes, if I’m bored you can find me in a corner dancing, and um… for me, it’s just nostalgic! For me growing up in my household we always were dancing, there was always music on, and it was just a part of my life. How I get up in the morning, I stand up and I start dancing.

Listen to part two of Hannah Rae’s interview with Adrienne here!

HR: Tell us about about the My Clean Moves campaign and how you got involved.

ABH: Yes! I am super hype because Pinesol launched the My Clean Moves campaign, it’s actually a contest that encourages people to share their own music-inspired cleaning routines– pretty much means that if you’ve gotta get this done, get it with a bomb playlist, get your music on and get your cleaning done, which I think a lot of us do! Growing up in my household on Saturdays, my mom was like, Okay, I’m putting some salsa music on, and we’re gonna get this house spotless. For me, it’s so nostalgic, and I still do that to this day. I have a great playlist, and I look up and I’m like, oh my gosh, I just got all of that done, and it was a good time!

So we are encouraging people to go on Instagram and share a photo of themselves dancing while cleaning and use the hashtag #MyCleanMoves and #Contest, and they can actually win $5,000 and get a Pandora subscription.

HR: Wow, that’s very awesome!

ABH: I know! Their account has to be public though, so we actually can see their picture, remember that as well. It’s also just for a great cause, to celebrate the launch of this contest Pinesol is donating $25,000 to Dancers Against Cancer, so it’s a great cause and it’s fun! I love love love getting people motivated to you know, bust a move and clean their houses.

HR: Right, definitely! So I know you mentioned especially growing up, salsa was more of the music you’d listen to while cleaning the house, but do you have any specific music recommendations for now?

ABH: Oh my gosh, yes. So on the salsa side, Marc Anthony always wins for me. That always will work…also, a little Bruno Mars never hurt? Uptown Funk you up, you know? It’s always a good time.

HR: Absolutely! So can you just tell us one more time where we can go to get more information on the My Clean Moves campaign?

ABH: YES! For more information to go pinesol.com/mycleanmoves– they’ve got all the info there and make sure you take a picture and put it on Instagram, I’m going to be sharing mine later today!

HR: Adrienne, seriously, thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me today, and just like, thank you for being you, you’re such a fun person!

ABH: Oh my gosh, thank you!
