Beautiful World
|
With this new special come all the elements that have made Jim Brickman synonymous with success at public television. A theme of friendship, healing and bridging cultures; a collection of quintessential Jim Brickman songs that marry gorgeous piano music with crossover classical: approachable, irresistible music with connections to classical, Celtic and Latin music. Powerful premium items include a DVD, CD combo and concert tickets.
Beautiful World is inspired by Jim's many travels and his memorable experiences of music bridging borders and cultural divides. This landmark special is a lush and intimate show shot in High Definition at Casino Niagara, just minutes from the Peace Bridge between the US and Canada at Niagara Falls, which was partially the inspiration for the special. Beautiful World will celebrate how music connects us and brings us all together.
To complement the special, Jim will conduct a 100 city tour - 50 cities this fall and 50 more cities in Spring of '10 - all of which can be mined for tickets as premium items. One of the most tireless entertainers around, Jim will be making special station appearances whenever possible and of course will provide a pledge event for those markets he can't get to personally.
Jim Brickman looks forward to his return to public television!

Special Guests
Jon Secada
Jon Secada, one of the most gifted artists of our time, is not only blessed with a soulful voice, but also with an artistry to create, write and produce music. His self-titled solo debut (released in 1992) sold six million plus copies worldwide and was certified triple platinum in the U.S. Jon followed with three more top 30 hits, a number one Latin album and three Grammy awards. Extending beyond his talent as a singer/songwriter, Jon lent his producing talent to the likes of Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Mandy Moore, to name a few. Apart from his dedication to music, Jon devotes himself various charitable endeavors. His commitment to education and helping others lead him to create the Jon Secada Music Scholarship at the University of Miami and is a supporter of many initiatives, including the Pediatric AIDS Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the Lifebeat Concert to benefit AIDS, Amigos Together for Kids, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club.

Melinda Doolittle
Melinda Doolittle, who became a household name on season six of American Idol, continues to thrill with her debut album,
Coming Back To You. Garnering rave reviews from critics, including
The New York Times, which hailed Melinda as one of the most “phenomenally gifted” in years,
Coming Back to You is a torch-passing musical revelation worthy of the R&B immortals – Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner
– with Melinda emerging as our most authentic new ambassador of R&B. Her musical accomplishments are outshone only by her spirit, as she dedicates much of her time to working with Malaria No More in their goal to end malaria deaths.

Arthur Hanlon
Chart-topping pianist/composer/arranger Arthur Hanlon is the single most recognizable name in Latin instrumental music today. The first and only pianist to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Latin charts and the only instrumentalist signed to a major Latin label, Hanlon plays a distinctive blend of Detroit street, classical virtuosity and Latin fusion. While in New York completing his postgraduate work at the Manhattan School of Music, Arthur fell in love with Latin music, which irreversibly changed his life. With his 2009 Universal Music Latino release
Piano Sin Fronteras, Arthur’s trademark sound joins forces with his friends from all over the world with new tracks born out of camaraderie and sheer musicianship.

Orla Fallon
Orla Fallon is an award-winning singer and harpist that rose to international acclaim as a soloist for the multiplatinum-selling group
Celtic Woman. Orla has performed sold-out concerts in prestigious venues such as New York’s Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Boston’s Opera House, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Her success has not stopped there as she performed at the Vatican for the Pope and in the White House for U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

David Klinkenberg
This emerging musical master started making ripples early. At the age of four, a violin was placed in David Klinkenberg’s small hands. He could barely hold the instrument. But after a couple of lessons, at the insistence of his parents, his small fingers found their place and his rosined bow found its groove. And just a few weeks later, little David was standing on a Chicago stage, sending a packed festival audience into orbit. From the classical to the kooky, David’s fiddle (as he likes to call it) generates a melodic mixed of inspiration, with a healthy dose of levity. From his featured performances with platinum recording artist Mark Schultz, to opening for internationally renowned pianist
Jim Brickman, David Klinkenberg’s diversity is undeniable. He is virtuoso violinist with a rare gift; he can stir the air and change the atmosphere.

Mark Masri

His music transcends generations with expressive lyrics, lush vocals and elegant delivery. With comparisons to Luther Vandross, Seal and The Winans, Masri is carving out a name for himself as a soulful musician with timeless appeal. 2009 has been quite the year for Mark with honors like a Canadian Music Award nomination, major artist covers, and playing to capacity theatres across America with
Jim Brickman.
